Skansie Visitor and Interpretive Center
Open Wednesdays through Sundays during the summer (and Thursdays through Saturdays in the off-season). This charming, historic waterfront building in the heart of downtown is operated by the city of Gig Harbor in partnership with Harbor WildWatch. Make this your first stop to learn more about picturesque Gig Harbor and the Puget Sound. The friendly visitor center volunteers can answer your questions about the history of the town, current events and the best place for lunch. Linger a little longer to explore the family-friendly Harbor WildWatch exhibits, from a large year-round touch tank to an augmented reality sandbox, and a live camera feed that shows an underwater peek into Gig Harbor Bay.
